The Philippines remains a key market for Mary Kay global, as Asia Pacific President KK Chua shared in his most recent visit to the country.
Campaigns on consumer lifestyle products always get us excited, but corporate branding efforts give Team Storyscope a different kind of thrill. That’s why when Mary Kay Philippines counted on us to do public relations work for the visit of Mary Kay Regional President for Asia Pacific KK Chua, we immediately put on our corporate communications hats to get strategy and content ideas going.
Direct selling is well-established in our local culture and Filipinos are known to be big consumers for direct selling brands. This has helped establish Mary Kay Philippines as one of the company’s biggest local markets, as supported by Mary Kay’s nationwide network of independent beauty consultants (IBCs).
Every year, Mary Kay Philippines holds its Philippine Seminar Event, a national convention to gather its IBCs. Last year’s ‘Higher, Smarter, Stronger Seminar Philippines’ with Mary Kay featured Mr. Chua as its special guest, and we took this opportunity to connect Mr. Chua with Philippine media to communicate the Mary Kay story.
Latching on the inspiring stories of women go-getters who comprise Mary Kay’s IBCs, Mr. Chua’s media engagement centered on the Mary Kay earning opportunity. By talking about the IBCs, we were able to compellingly share the reason why the Philippines remains a key market for Mary Kay global, especially as one of the top-performing countries in the Asia Pacific region.
Through Mr. Chua’s interviews, we were able to showcase Mary Kay’s corporate brand. This served as a refreshing change from our line-up of consumer lifestyle public relations and social media initiatives. As communication experts, we welcome varied and dynamic work that allows us to fully explore our capabilities in brand strategy, social media marketing, and public relations, as this allows us to provide more value as a strategic communications partner to some of the top brands in the Philippines.
